George Frederick is Baltimore’s most famous architect. The many buildings that Frederick designed helped give Baltimore the moniker “Monument City.” Frederick designed much of Druid Hill Park, including the Baltimore Conservancy facing Greater Mondawmin, which was later renamed the Henry Peter Rawlings Conservatory. Frederick designed the Baltimore City Hall when he was only 25 years old and went on to design many of Baltimore’s most iconic buildings.
