Whittier-Monroe is a small neighborhood between Frederick Douglass High School and Reisterstown Road. It is home to a mix of young families and established residents. This mix can be seen in the variety of amenities in the area, notably New Shiloh Village, a modern and eco-friendly senior living community, and Y Head Start, a pre-school program offered by the Y of Central Maryland. The Mondawmin Urban Green Space, a small neighborhood garden, sits in the neighborhood on Reisterstown Road.
